David Walters built this Schweizer TG-2 sailplane from an Earl Stahl
plan, originally designed for free-flight. With a 2-channel R/C conversion,
simple NiCad batteries, and an airbrushed finish, the all-up weight
is only 2.2 oz. Not bad for a 30 inch wingspan model.
Construction remained faithful
to the plan, except that 1/16” stringers in the upper fuse that
were replaced with 3/32” stringers. The structure was covered
in yellow Solite and airbrushed with Testor’s blue enamel.
