Make the sockets from foam that is rubbery and provides high friction.
The center of foam board works well. Styrofoam, and expanded insulation
foam will not return to shape after being compressed and is not suitable.
Cut the socket hole slightly undersized using a very sharp blade.
I like to use white glue
to attach the socket to the surrounding structure because it is somewhat
flexible. Whatever you use, make sure it doesn’t dissolve the
foam.
